EFOS for iPad v16: Enhancements that drive efficiency & productivity

A new version of EFOS for iPad is here: meet Next Generation Forms

For airline trainers, multitasking often overshadows what matters most: observing what’s happening in the sim or during a check. The constant burden of admin tasks and updates creates barriers to timely information submission, leading to delays, extra work for admin teams and trainers, and, at worst, missed training slots.

Our latest EFOS Training iPad update improves the trainer experience. By streamlining data capture and grading, delivering faster, smoother in-form navigation, and adding more essential training forms, the update further reduces workloads and admin tasks.

What's new in iPad v16?

Experience forms like never before with Next Generation Forms. This evolution focuses on speed, usability, and smarter workflows that reflect the realities of modern training delivery. From smoother navigation to multi-candidate assessment and group-wide submissions, every feature has been designed to make forms faster and more intuitive.

Side-by-Side Forms

With Side-by-Side Forms, instructors can review and grade two candidates on the same course element simultaneously. This is a real advantage when grading teamwork, observing high pressure scenarios, testing knowledge, or simply working through high volumes of check items.

This feature allows trainers to open compatible forms in sync, grade and sign off all required items in real time, and copy shared information from one to another when appropriate, reducing duplication, enabling real time data capture and ensuring consistency across checks and assessments on the flight deck and in the cabin.

EFOS iPad Enhancements include side by side forms, which allows trainers to grade two candidates at once

When individual focus is needed, instructors can switch to a single-candidate view with one click, maintaining flexibility without breaking workflow. The result? More efficient sessions, greater standardisation, better-aligned training outcomes and gradings, and above all else, more eyes-up time.

Group Forms

EFOS Group Forms proved to be a big hit when first launched in web format. They greatly reduced the burden on trainers and admin teams by making it easy to capture attendees and automatically update course progress and training records on completion.

Now, this powerful ‘single-click’ functionality is available in EFOS for iPad. Trainers can focus on delivery, without losing valuable time to endless admin tasks.

Group forms in the new iPad update let trainers submit individual forms for multiple candidates.

Continuous Scroll

raining forms often have lots of sections featuring multiple syllabus items in each, all fully aligned with lesson plans. This can result in the need to frequently select the correct section before choosing the item or scenario to be completed – all wasting valuable time and creating unnecessary clicks.

Continuous scroll removes the need for this by allowing users to navigate seamlessly from top to bottom, easily finding and selecting the items needed before moving directly onto the next part.

Faster, easier to use and far more efficient and user friendly.

What else is new?

EFOS iPad v16 also brings a host of enhancements designed to make your training workflows smoother, faster, and more flexible:

      • Improved sync speed: Every tap, every update, every form now moves faster. Data syncs quickly across devices, so trainers and candidates always see the latest information without waiting.
      • Multi-image upload: Wherever you need to add supporting files or images, you can now select and upload multiple items at once. Whether it’s photos from a simulator session or classroom documentation, your workflow just got a lot more efficient.
      • Deferred form access: Candidates can now see deferred forms in their certificates tab, ready to complete on the scheduled date. Clear tags keep everyone aligned.
      • Enhanced filtering and tags in certificates: Finding the right certificate or form is faster than ever. New filters highlighted tags make navigation intuitive and immediate.
      • Journey Log & Quicklinks updates: The Journey Log interface has been refined for a more consistent, user-friendly experience, now including dark mode support for missing logs. Quicklinks buttons across My Training, Company Forms, and Safety Forms have also been redesigned for speed and clarity.
      • Alerts: Trainers can configure alerts with multiple, customisable statuses, keeping everyone informed and aligned with real-time priorities.

Product implemented

EFOS Training - the airline training management system designed to automate and centralise crew training delivery.

Before EFOS

Air Malta was struggling with a leave management process that was highly complex and labour intensive. Each leave request had to be processed manually, which meant pilots and cabin crew were forced to wait a long time to get confirmation of their leave.

After EFOS

EFOS Leave replicated the airline’s custom validation rules in the new digital platform. This made the transition smoother, as these rules were already accepted by both union representatives and crew members.

What they said

“The project was delivered very swiftly, enabling Air Malta’s team to quickly realise the benefits of the new software. The team at Evoke were committed and totally onboard for this project. The system was easy to understand, and help was always found along the project.”
