We are delighted to announce details of our pioneering new project: the EFOS ‘EBT in a box’ solution.
A new methodology of Pilot Training, Evidence Based Training, also known as EBT, was introduced by ICAO following an industry-wide consensus that a strategic review of flight crew training methods was required. Traditional training methods are based on air accident data from early generation jets, but a significant advancement in technology over the past 30 years has meant that modern aircraft are considerably more reliable, whilst an advancement of digital training records with accompanying data sources has also increased the availability of useful data for training exercises. The philosophy behind EBT is simple; by mastering a finite number of competencies, flight crew will be empowered to handle unforeseen situations that occur in flight, even if they have not received specific training for this scenario.
We have undertaken extensive research and consultation to develop and design an innovative solution to assist airlines looking to implement Evidence Based Training. The EFOS ‘EBT in a Box’ solution comprises a comprehensive suite of tools designed to support Training Managers in implementing this new training method within their airline. Consisting of 3 key modules, the Programme Designer, tailored EFOS EBT Forms and Analytical Tools, our innovative new solution allows airlines to introduce EBT in a simple and cost-effective way.
EBT in a Box
The built-in Programme Designer will provide the functionality for Training Managers to accurately build their full 3-year EBT programme with ease, assisting the process to obtain regulatory approval. Assessment and Training Topics are mapped to competencies which will fulfil airline training requirements, with Upset Prevention Recovery and Malfunction Clustering also being managed within the Programme Designer. The tailored EFOS EBT forms offer a seamless end user experience, with built-in data automation and validation capturing crucial information required for EBT programmes throughout the training process, whilst embedded robust analytical tools undertake the analysis required for instructor concordance and flight crew performance.
