About Us

Building a brand and product for the long-term.

Evoke Systems is a British software company founded in 2001 by Capt. Mark Linney and Dr. Craig Howard. At a time when the internet was still in its infancy and consumer software operating systems were considered unreliable, they both visualised the potential safety, commercial and practical benefits of the paperless cockpit. Since inception Evoke has worked with airlines to build solutions that harness the ‘data mining’ expertise of Craig and the aviation industry knowledge of Mark, who still flies as a Captain for a British long-haul carrier.

The company began with a DTI Smart award to conduct a feasibility study into the concepts of an electronic flight operations system. This nine-month project established the technical feasibility of the system and outlined the requirements of the pilots, cabin crew, regulators (CAA/EASA/FAA) and airline managers. The results also identified suitable hardware equipment, software processes and architecture, human factor issues and regulatory requirements. One thing highlighted was the challenges and high costs faced by airlines in communicating with a widely-based and highly mobile workforce.

“Vital safety and security information needed to go out to a dispersed workforce in a timely and auditable way. At the same time important data was frequently being ‘lost’ in the paper-trail that flowed back to HQ. Essentially our company was founded to improve these unreliable, unscalable and expensive paper-based processes.” – Evoke Founders

Evoke’s culture is built around the notion that everyone in the business is part of a much larger team that works together with the client to deliver a safe airline operation whilst making the most of the benefits that come from efficient and scalable operating processes.  These principles are firmly rooted in the training and induction of all staff recruited to our team. We aim to foster a genuine interest and passion for aviation; for example, every employee will experience the work environment of pilots by getting to handle the controls of modern full-mission flight simulator (with varying degrees of success it must be said!). Currently we use the Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A320 for this induction.

Strategic Growth following proven UK market Dominance

The strategic vision for the business is to now seek exponential growth through working with additional international airlines in different, mature and emerging markets. We have achieved UK market dominance by working closely with our airline clients and by following a process of continuous improvement through innovation and product road-mapping.

This is achieved through the following Evoke key strengths: –

Broad Feature Flexibility

With our form building tool we are able to build intelligent forms on the client’s behalf to match their processes and thus maximise efficiency and value through data validation and automation.

Data structuring and integration

We capture data from our forms and blend this with information from our client’s other operations systems to maximise data flow, enhance auditing and enable analysis.

Highest levels of customer support

We guarantee the highest levels of support are maintained via first-rate account management policies that ensure we meet the needs (and then exceed the expectations) of our clients. We know that reputation is hard-won and easily lost. Our commitment to our clients is driven by ensuring they get the solution they need and continuously supported. This relationship is never-ending.

Scalable Microsoft Azure hosting

Allows us to rapidly scale up our system to facilitate growth and load demands. Our systems have always been cloud-hosted and we offer the highest possible levels of service, availability, security and the protection of data.

OUR Mission Statement

We provide trusted, commercial, innovative and scalable software  solutions, offering operating efficiency to the aviation sector, across the world, supported by excellent customer support.

A socially responsible culture, where staff enjoy coming to work and are rewarded for their demonstrable talents and empowered and inspired to be commercially innovative.

Growing prosperity to an extent that enables sufficient product reinvestment and provides a suitable return to investors.
